Inseln der Kreativität.... Islands of creativity

Vielleicht kennt ihr den Spruch "Home is where your story beginns...". Unsere Antwort darauf:
"Mein Atelier ist eine Insel der Kreativität".
Da wir acht uns leider nicht "life" erleben können, haben wir überlegt, uns unsere Arbeitsplätze zeigen. 
Hier zeigen wir die ersten Bilder!

As we can not come together "life", we have thought to show us our studios. Here the first pictures!

Artist Statement

 
In my earlier years I was sewing tradition quilts but I have gone through different styles. But what has run like a thread through all my projects is my love of nature, in adapting nature to the quilt medium.
When I am working I prefer to rely on my inspiration. I play with different materials, try to get into communication with tem and let my imagination take over. While I am sewing I join together my love for art, fabrics and nature.
I dye my fabrics myself. Therefore I have a great variety – whatever comes to my mind, I can start.
Since I do not like to use words to express myself I leave it to my quilts to say what I think…

Artist statement
My love for fabrics and textiles began when I was in kindergarten. By the age of twenty-four, I made my first traditional quilt. More than anything else in my life, I found that I was attracted to visual arts. Over the years I developed my quilting skills whenever I could find a little bit of time.

Juliette Eckel's internet class on “Manipulating Textiles” opened up a whole new dimension for me. I found that I learn best by doing. The hands-on approach allowed me to experiment and to get some surprising results. I now work with all kind of materials. I have developed skills to treat textiles by paintings, dyeing, discharging, waxing, fusing, transfer, smocking and calligraphy, as well as manipulating my own photo images and printing them onto fabrics. There is still a lot more to discover.
In 2010 I immigrated to Canada. I now live on Little Atlin Lake, Yukon Territory, a most beautiful place. The world and the Life are full of everyday occurrences, questions and beauty, all of which influence my art.
Yukon’s gorgeous nature is my inspiration. Colors and fabrics are my passion.

Schon im Kindergartenalter erwachte meine Liebe für Stoffe. Mein erster traditioneller Quilt entstand ungefähr mit 24 Jahren. Jede freie Zeit wurde ausgenutzt zum Nähen und Lernen neuer Techniken und Möglichkeiten.  Nichts ist spannender als visual Art.

„Textile Manipulationen“, der Internet-Kurs von Juliette Eckel eröffnete neue Dimensionen. Alles Mögliche auszuprobieren macht Spaß. Manchmal entstehen überraschende Resultate, die zu weiteren Entwicklungen führen. Allerlei Materialien lassen sich textil verarbeiten. Malen, färben, entfärben,  drucken, fotografieren, schmelzen, smocken, Transfers, Kalligraphie und Wax sind nur einige Möglichkeiten. Viel mehr gibt es zu entdecken.

Seit 2010 lebe ich am Little Atlin Lake im Yukon Territory in Canada, am für mich schönsten Ort der Welt. Umwelt-Ereignisse und das Leben sind voller Schönheit und Fragen, die textil verarbeitet werden wollen.

Yukon’s wilde Natur ist Inspiration. Farben und Stoffe sind meine Leidenschaft.
